Ho Ho Ho

Today is the last day of school and the first day of "Let's get ready for Christmas!"  Bailee has had a wonderful growing year in 2nd grade.  She had an amazing, caring teacher and lived through the introduction to Common Core.  We still don't like it and it's a total waste of time as far as making an addition problem into the 12 step program.  It's math people, not Alcoholics Anonymous...
Now, on to Christmas!   Summer and fall are the very best times...ever.  We have two new and very special birthdays to celebrate this year.  The Julz festival on July 14th and the happy part of 9-11 when we celebrate our Lacie.  Next, we'll start planning for Halloween.  That's a pretty huge holiday for us too.  Maleficent has been discussed a bit and to find 4 foot wings might be a project that needs an extra early beginning.  From there we'll roll into November birthdays. Miss B will turn 8 on November 17th and Jeff, the big 3-6 on November 27th.  Each event has a couple of pages earmarked in my planning book!  Then there's Christmas....The baskets are already on the closet shelves and waiting.  two new baskets happily added this year.  I must make a note to order two new stockings.  Amazon has already recognized my name, I'm sure.  I'm thinking I may have my own drone before we're done.  I know people are moaning and groaning about it "only being June and why does everybody have to start this Christmas crap now?" Well, the truth is....Christmas is about believing..in everyone from Jesus to Santa Claus.  It's about about all things new....we like new!  We know the reason for the season and we know that the joy it brings is one of the things to celebrate.  This year we have joy and family and traditions and a little extra magic....Half of the Holiday is the anticipation.  If you don't want to spread your tinsel and hang your balls till December, so be it!  But for us, it's time for a little Ho Ho Ho!!!
