Change

Change: A difference that is usually pleasant; a thing that is different; an event that occurs when something passes from one state to another; becoming different in some particular way, without permanently losing one's or its former characteristics or essence.
All of those definitions are good.... I can handle mediocre change....I can handle happy change and I especially like monetary change...you know, like at McDonald's. I must admit, I like to be the facilitator of change...I think it's kind of a control thing.  That's not always a good thing but I try to see what changes would be positive and help to make them happen. Positive change can happen with something as minor as attitude and as major as gratitude. It can be altered by everything from currency to current events. Sometimes even little things can make big changes.
We're undergoing some changes...(other than facial hair, hearing loss and bladder control.)

  1. Jeff is home!  HUGE change for him both in outlook and income.  Home is where the heart is and the phrase "you can never go home" is completely false... you can always go home!
  2. Bailee's growing up.  By the end of the week, she'll be a 3rd grader. I wanted her to slow down when she turned 3!  She has a defined personality, a wonderful sense of humor, a way with words and on Friday she'll have 15 inches less hair:-/  Her beautiful braids will be donated to Wigs for Kids, a non profit organization that does NOT charge for their wigs.  It's a  noble cause and a valuable lesson but I will miss her Goldilocks:-(
  3. We're getting Social Security...really? WTF  It really only lives up to its name.. SOCIAL security...we get about enough to afford Internet!
  4. We get up earlier, go to bed earlier and eat earlier.
  5. We sit and watch birds!
  6. We reminisce about our youth but can't remember what we had for supper last night or where we even ate:-(
  7. Our kids like each other.....finally!
  8. Our family appears to be growing in the most wonderful of ways...no babies, just additions...very welcomed additions!
  9. The landscapes are sadly changing:-(
  10. The little things are more and more becoming the big things!
So, although change isn't always invited it is inevitable and as Bailee has always said, "Deal about it!"
We are and as long as we're around to relish it or revamp it, it's a good thing!
