"We will open the book. It's pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year's Day" - Quote by Edith Lovejoy Pierce
2012 went out with a blazing trail of red, a volley of color and a low rumble of snores. We had a bountiful feast of prime rib, crab legs, shrimp and all the trimmings. Bailee enjoyed a room full of balloon making, face painting, clowns and new friends. I think I really prefer a family New Year's Eve to one of loud music, flowing alcohol and party dresses. It's official.....I'm OLD! Bailee likes to remind me of that glaring fact on a regular basis but I think I just got it! We enjoyed a few days at Greek Peak's Hope Lake Lodge and enjoyed almost every minute. A few revelations appeared on our family get-away. Papa's are not able to gracefully sit in a tube in moving water (or even still water), queen-size beds are so named because only one person (duh- the QUEEN) should be sleeping in them and 3 female generations can co-habitate nicely...add a geriatric male and it just plain screws up the balance of nature. All in all, it was a fun few days at one of our favorite places.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and let's make "13" our new lucky number!!
